A Day In the Life of a Writer

What’s the Status? Want & Decay #2: Thomas’ Want

coffee-instrgm 1My readers have asked about the status of Want & Decay #2, Thomas’ Want.  Thomas’ story is  a bit more complicated than Ivy James. His layers run deeper. I am taking my time writing his story as I explore his character. At the same time, while writing for Thomas, I also learn more about his wife, Deana. So, I’ve been writing two individual stories, but, one plot. It’s been exciting, exhausting, complicated, and rewarding.  Since its hard not to get pulled into this story I’ve created, I need to step away from it a little. I have been taking breathers, and proofreading as I go (my least favorite part of writing).

To help those creative juices flow a little faster,I take longer walks, and my Yoga classes have been increased to three days a week, instead of just one on Saturday mornings. I also find myself studying men more, their conversations, mannerisms, (since I’m writing from the point of view of a male). To all those guys out there who thought I was checking you out, trust me, it’s just research. I’ve been drinking two cups of coffee in the morning, instead of just one. Though they are small cups, this is a first for me.

My goal is to have Thomas’ Want completed by Christmas, which isn’t too far away. Can you believe it’s that time of year again? Macy’s has red garland, bows and Christmas trees around the stores. Wow, time is flying!

I wanted to keep you updated on the the books progress. I’ll be filling you in along the way. Thanks so much again for your continued support and reviews. It is truly appreciated.
